Winter & Co. is a firm of chartered certified accountants and registered auditors and is based in the city centre of Sheffield. The firm is an ACCA quality checked practice and also an approved ACCA training practice. The firm was established in 1985.

The Charity Commission referred to the quality of our work in its report into a client charity in 2005:
“The trustees instructed a professional firm of accountants to audit the Charity’s accounts …The Accounts produced have been of a high quality, with the accountant providing the trustees with professional advice on internal financial controls and projections for the financial future of the charity.”

The principal of the firm, Peter Winter, was educated at the Wyggeston Boys’ Grammar School and De Montfort University, Leicester. He qualified as a chartered certified accountant and registered auditor in 1981. Peter holds an MA degree in English Literature from the Open University.
Peter has extensive audit and tax experience over many years across a variety of industry sectors. In respect of his charity clients, Peter provides audit and value added services and advises on all aspects of financial planning, SORP, governance issues and taxation. He is a Fellow of the Association of Charity Independent Examiners.
He is a past president of the Sheffield and District ACCA and remains a trustee of the student prize fund. He is a former treasurer and director of Fulwood Sports Club and has been an Associate Lecturer at Sheffield Hallam University since 2003, where he has been responsible for teaching the ACCA Professional Paper P6 “Advanced Taxation” to evening class students.
